1) We welcome the release of the five journalists who were working for Cumhuriyet daily newspaper, İstanbul, with the support of Turkish Press Council.
2) We want to congratulate Dr. Qais Al-Radwani, a member of WAPC for his huge donation of his land for the people running away from fighting in Iraq.
3) The WAPC has decided to have more cooperation and exchange of views among the members of press councils, especially for freedom and welfare of the journalists.
4) The WAPC is concerned about new threats to journalism including on-line media which is difficult to monitor.
5) Times and technology have changed and more challenges are ahead for the safety of media people. We urge all the journalists to obey the professional ethics to prove that media fraternity is more responsible.
6) The WAPC expresses concern over continuous suppression and oppression of journalists in many countries especially in areas of war and conflict.
7) WAPC is deeply concerned about the ongoing conditions of journalists and the media in Tanzania. We urge the Government to disclose whereabouts of Azony Gwanda and release of Erick Kabendera from custody.
8) We are condemning the killing of Sheikh Ali (61) who was editor-in-chief of the Iraqi Website Al-Jamhour al-Baghdadiya. He was shot three times while driving in central Baghdad on 10th of September, 2019.
9) The WAPC condemns the Government of Zimbabwe for embarking on problematic media reforms in that country. The WAPC urges the Zimbabwe Government to take advantage of this opportunity and come up with democratic media regulations and laws. WAPC calls on the Zimbabwe Government to recognise democratic media self-regulation in the New Zimbabwe Media Commission Bill.
10) We would like to invite more countries to join the WAPC, because we believe that we are stronger together.
